The bluebird colored Tarin had not had opportunity to go this far North, nor had she the desire. It was rather craggy here, ruins seeming to be all about, a marsh that she'd flown over and all for some strange feeling she'd gotten when she'd awoken this day. As if there were a task she should undertake, a risk she should brave, almost as if Demeter herself were urging her to attend to some wild need.

So it was at the peak of mid-day that she found herself standing in front of a cavern entrance, upon the small islands known as the Colchis Labyrinth. Looking around, she wondered if she were the only living soul around, they looked barely habitated. Fixing her gaze again to the mouth of the strange opening to what looked like perhaps a tunnel that might go far under the earth, she shivered. This wasn't something that she would normally choose to do.

"Demeter, give me strength . . . and perhaps send me an ally?" She looked to the skies and wished hopefully, her talons flexing on the ground in a rather hesitant motion. What if she went down there to never arise again? She now felt quite silly for not really giving much of a signal that she'd left the Tribe, since truly, she hadn't meant to find this. However, she'd been led here by some force, and now she would complete it's task, no matter where it took her.

((Miiiiiiiiind if I hops in? ^_^))

Of what had possessed the petite Tarin to venture to the North, he was uncertain. He had woken up that morning, bored, and decidedly uneasy. Thus, he’d left his tropical oasis and taken to the sky, though he fully intended to return home when whatever adventure his stomach was leading him towards found its end. He sighed as his wings cut the air. He was swifter than most of his kind, what with his size, and so he was making excellent time. Or, at least, he believed so.

As he began to near the northern shore of Eneas, he dipped lower, so that he could see the ground and all of its inhabitants. As he passed over the northern foothills where Hypatia Ridge and Arctos Peak met, he gazed out towards the large bay, enclosed on three sides, which contained the Colchis Labyrinth, a small, seemingly disorganized archipelago. He began to feel a buzzing in the back of his head, not a true force, but an instinctive signal. Sighing once again, he nosed down into a swift, elegant dive. As he neared the ground, he backed wind, landing lightly, gracefully on his paws and claws.

As he cast his dark gaze around his surroundings, he lifted his snout to the light breeze and… He scented another Tarin. Ah, wonderful. Of course, she would turn out to be one of his forest-dwelling brethren, as along with her own scent, he caught the near-overwhelming aromas of healing herbs, whereas he himself smelled of the rather pleasant, briny wind that pervaded his island home. Sighing, he decided that strong-smelling company was better than no company, and set off to locate the unknown Tarin.

She waited a few more moments, eyes closed slightly as if in a prayer to her goddess Demeter. It was truly a prayer, after all, she did not know what would be in her future should she go into this cavern, down into what tunnels surely lay beneath, and one would not want to ignore the idea of the goddess before doing so. Rather, she wished strength to be bestowed upon her and wisdom.

Gaia had just finished her small prayer when a sound came to her sharp ears. Another, nearby? Perhaps her silent askance for an ally had been heard. Turning, to look about she called into the air gently. "Hello then, if there is another nearby! You are welcome to join me if adventure has also brought you here!"

(( SORRYSORRYSORRY! I totally forgot this thread! *kicking self* I promise I won't do it again. If you even want to continue the thread, that is, what with how long you've been waiting... ))

Slipping silently over the rocky ground, Pris glanced somewhat disdainfully about himself. He far preffered nice soft sand, or even springy loam and leaf litter, to the alternatly rocky, marshy terrain that surrounded him. Call him mixed up, call him confused, but he was one Tarin who preferred the sea, and he was already regretting making his way to the dratted place! But, he took a series of slow, deep breaths, schooled his expression, and buried his misgivings beneath a heap of resolution.

It was then that he heard a voice, female, as he'd surmised from the scent. He walked around a particularly large and unnaturally shaped rock, for their were ruins strewn about quite hapazardly, and there she was. Larger than himself, she resembled one of the blue songbirds of the mountains. He stopped at a polite distance and settled to his haunches. "Hello," he intoned in low, silvery, bell-like tones, his odd voice adding to his beauty. "I am Pris."

ooc: Eh, don't worry about it. I lose inspiration for places too, when they're dead like this and not even the mods / admins / owners are bothering to post their characters. It makes me sad because it's got such potential. ;.;

She waited for an answer to her hail and was pleasantly surprised when one came in the form of a new introduction. The vivid tones of the Tarin in front of her were a sharp contrast to what seemed a desolate area and she smile to him politely in return, dipping her head in introduction. It was nice to hear a voice from one that she could consider an ally, especially in this strange and unusual circumstance.

"It is pleasant to meet you, Pris. I am glad that you have arrived, for I was thinking of perhaps delving into these subterranean areas and was a bit reluctant to go alone. I'd welcome you along if you were looking for such adventure." Her smooth melodic tones were pleasant and earthy and she smiled the entire while as if even this mere conversation was a pleasing one to her. Looking back at the hole that promised deeper into the underground and then back at Pris she nodded again. "I am Gaia, of Elpis Latuit."
